Zheleznyak stated that former Deputy Prosecutor General Mustetsa may be “protecting” an illegal factory
MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak has alleged that former Deputy Prosecutor General Igor Mustetsa may have been involved in providing “protection” for an illegal factory.
According to the MP, a number of his sources in the business community and law enforcement agencies refer to Mustetsa as the “chief overseer” of this activity.
Zheleznyak noted that Mustetsa served as Deputy Prosecutor General from 2020 to 2025, but was dismissed following a series of scandals, particularly those related to pressure on the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU).
Also, according to the MP, the former official is now allegedly attempting to influence the situation surrounding the Economic Security Bureau’s investigation.
The MP emphasized that such cases demonstrate the need for deeper reforms in the law enforcement system, which, in his estimation, could bring billions in revenue to the state budget.
Earlier, the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine reported that as part of efforts to bring the fuel market out of the shadows, the number of illegal gas stations in several regions has significantly decreased. According to the agency’s estimates, this has generated additional revenue for the state budget and positively impacted the transparency of the fuel market.
The Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv handed down a verdict to Vitalii Chernenko, a former employee of the Economic Security Bureau, who attempted to extort a huge sum from business owners.
