Journalists spotted individuals implicated in the Mindich tapes on the French Riviera

Journalists from “Ukrainska Pravda” have published the fourth part of their investigation, “The Monaco Battalion, in which they documented the presence on the French Riviera of a number of Ukrainian businessmen, politicians, and individuals implicated in high-profile criminal cases. Among them are sanctioned businessman Vadym Yermolayev, the Surkis brothers, Yuriy Ivanyushchenko—an associate of fugitive former President Viktor Yanukovych—as well as individuals implicated in the so-called “Mindich tapes.”

According to the author of the investigation, Mykhailo Tkach, journalists spotted sanctioned businessman Vadym Yermolayev on the promenade near the Monaco Yacht Club; he had been living in Monaco since at least 2022. The footage was taken before the assassination attempt on him, which occurred on June 29. According to UP’s sources, one theory behind the attack is a possible connection between the businessman’s son and the activities of fraudulent call centers.

According to the journalists, brothers Ihor and Hryhoriy Surkis rent apartments in the Monte-Carlo Bay residential complex. The publication’s sources claim that People’s Deputy Hryhoriy Surkis regularly visits the principality.

Journalists also spotted Yuriy Ivanyushchenko in Monaco, who is described as an associate of Viktor Yanukovych. He was accompanied by his business partner, Ivan Avramov. Ivanyushchenko is wanted by authorities and has been arrested in absentia in connection with the case involving the alleged legalization of state-owned land at the “Stolichny” market.

In the French town of Beaulieu-sur-Mer, journalists spotted Yuriy Gorovoy, whom the media refer to as the “overseer” of the State Geocadastre and the State Architectural and Construction Inspection, as well as brothers Andriy and Vasyl Veselyi, who are linked to the “Mindich tapes.”

In addition, a former SBU employee, Volodymyr Vilchynskyi, and Igor Voronin, a longtime associate of Dmytro Firtash, were spotted on the French Riviera, and businessman Rinat Akhmetov was also mentioned. Journalists noted that he purchased an apartment in Monaco for about $500 million and linked a 145-meter yacht and two private jets—spotted in Nice and Geneva—to him.

This is detailed in the investigative report “Monaco Battalion 4, which was published on the “Ukrainska Pravda” YouTube channel.

As a reminder, 39-year-old Ukrainian Anastasia Berezovska, who is suspected of attempting to assassinate businessman Vadym Yermolayev and his family, left the principality after the explosion and fled to Germany.

A criminal case was opened in Ukraine following the assassination attempt on Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolayev.
