The Ukrainian Armed Forces are introducing robotic surgery in collaboration with partners from the United States
As part of international cooperation and efforts to modernize medical support, the Medical Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine participated in a professional event in the United States dedicated to the development of robotic and minimally invasive surgery. Ukrainian military medics familiarized themselves with modern approaches to treating complex injuries and surgical conditions.
During the visit, special attention was given to practical training on the da Vinci Surgical System, which is used in leading U.S. clinics.
During the event, Ukrainian specialists discussed in detail the mechanisms for transferring robotic equipment to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, exchanged experiences regarding the treatment and rehabilitation of patients, and established effective cooperation to optimize the processes for referring and accommodating our wounded soldiers for treatment abroad.
Special attention was paid to developing professional contacts with leading U.S. specialists and securing further support from international partners.
The Medical Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was represented at this international event by the Chief Surgeon of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel of the Medical Service Kostyantyn Humenyuk, as well as Lieutenant Colonel of the Medical Service Artem Kobirnichenko, senior resident of the urology department at the Urology Clinic of the National Military Medical Clinical Center “Main Military Clinical Hospital.”
The development of such cooperation and the integration of innovative technologies into Ukrainian military medicine will raise the quality of care and the ability to save the lives of our defenders to a fundamentally new level.
