The 28th Brigade captured an invader who had come to film a fake video
Soldiers from the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade captured a Russian soldier in the Kostiantynivka area. According to the brigade, he infiltrated Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka to film a propaganda video featuring a Russian flag. However, Ukrainian troops spotted him in time and detained him.
Soldiers from the mobile fire group of the anti-aircraft missile division of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade, named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, captured a Russian soldier in the Kostiantynivka area. According to the brigade, the occupier infiltrated Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka on his own to film a propaganda video. The 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade reported that the Russian soldier intended to film a video featuring the Russian flag to create yet another story about the alleged “successes” of the occupying forces. However, he was unable to carry out his plan.
Ukrainian defenders detected the Russian soldier in time and carried out an operation to detain him. The brigade emphasizes that the operation took place without any casualties among its personnel. “Thanks to the coordinated actions of the soldiers, the Russian soldier was taken prisoner without any casualties among the Ukrainian defenders,” the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade reported. After his capture, the prisoner was handed over to the relevant authorities. He has been added to Ukraine’s prisoner exchange pool, which can be used in future prisoner-of-war exchanges.
The brigade also noted that such incidents are occurring with increasing frequency. According to military officials, while Russian propaganda attempts to fabricate stories about the alleged advance of the occupying forces, those carrying out these operations often end up in the hands of Ukrainian defenders. “While Russian propaganda tries to create yet another round of fake news about the ‘successes’ of the occupying forces, their operatives are increasingly ending up in the custody of Ukrainian defenders,” the 28th Mechanized Brigade noted.
