ISW analysts have debunked false claims by the Russian General Staff regarding an advance in the Kharkiv region

For several months now, the military leadership of the aggressor country has been spreading disinformation about significant successes by its occupation forces on the eastern front. In particular, there have been claims of an alleged large-scale advance by the invaders west of Kupiansk toward the town of Shevchenkove, intended to create a false impression among the public that the city has been completely captured.

According to experts at the Institute for the Study of War, the reports released by Russian generals do not correspond at all to the actual situation on the front lines and are simply propaganda exaggerations.

Careful monitoring of the current situation indicates that enemy forces do not hold stable, fortified positions in Kupiansk, and only isolated attempts by sabotage groups to infiltrate are being recorded in certain city neighborhoods. Ukrainian defensive lines are reliably holding back enemy pressure, maintaining the tactical initiative in many key sectors of the front. The Russian military command’s systematic lies about fabricated victories demonstrate the leadership’s detachment from reality, which ultimately negatively impacts the occupiers’ own strategic planning and leads to their inability to carry out large-scale offensive operations.

Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces struck 2,319 Russian military targets across various sections of the front line over the course of a single day. 

The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated another 1,020 Russian soldiers on the front lines over the past 24 hours.

The occupiers complain that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are cutting off the land corridor to Crimea with drones.
