Two people were injured in the Mykolaiv region by Russian drone strikes

Over the past 24 hours, Russian occupation forces carried out a series of intense shelling attacks on the Mykolaiv region, resulting in injuries of varying severity to two local residents. In total, five targeted strikes using FPV-type unmanned aerial vehicles were recorded, which were directed at civilian infrastructure in several frontline communities. 

This was reported by Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration. He specified that the Kutsurub and Halytsyniv communities came under enemy fire, where two men, aged 51 and 82, were injured during one of the attacks.

The condition of the older victim allowed for outpatient treatment under the supervision of family doctors, while the other injured citizen was immediately hospitalized by medical personnel at a specialized hospital. In addition to human casualties, the latest acts of aggression by Russian forces resulted in significant material damage in populated areas. Explosions damaged a private vehicle as well as an educational facility, which was not in operation at the time of the strike, thereby preventing a higher number of civilian casualties.

Over the past week, Russian occupation forces have launched more than 3,170 attack drones, over 1,300 guided aerial bombs, and 74 missiles of various types—the vast majority of which were ballistic—at Ukrainian territory. 

On May 16, Russian occupation forces carried out massive shelling of the Kherson region, resulting in one death and 15 civilians sustaining injuries of varying severity.

On the night of May 17, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down and neutralized 279 enemy drones out of 287 launched by Russian military units.

A 25-year-old woman was injured as a result of an enemy drone strike on a gas station in the Zaporizhzhia district.
