The Ukrainian Armed Forces' Reconnaissance Unit destroyed the command post of a Russian S-300 system
Soldiers from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 15th Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade, “Black Forest,” successfully struck the command-and-control vehicle of a Russian S-300P/PM anti-aircraft missile system. Video footage of the strike was released by the Ukrainian military.
According to a source, the strike targeted one of the key components of the Russian S-300 system’s command and control structure.
The video shows that several Ukrainian reconnaissance UAVs were simultaneously monitoring the air defense system. This vehicle is one of the key components of the air defense system, as it collects information from radars and transmits commands to the launchers.
"Black Forest" notes that the destruction of the command post could significantly weaken Russian air defense operations in a specific sector of the front and open up opportunities for further Ukrainian operations deep behind enemy lines.
In addition, command and staff vehicles contain complex and expensive electronic equipment, and training crews to operate such systems takes a long time.
Footage of the strike on this rare target was shared by brigade personnel on social media.
As a reminder, on Friday, August 7, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse in Dnipro was destroyed as a result of an attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.
Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers lost 1,130 troops and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.
