The number of casualties has risen following the attack on Zaporizhzhia
In Zaporizhzhia, the number of people injured following a Russian missile and drone strike on residential neighborhoods has risen to nine. Among the injured are women aged 21 to 86 who required medical attention. The strike hit peaceful areas of the city, where fires broke out and buildings were damaged.
The Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia once again targeted residential neighborhoods, where there is no military logic whatsoever, but rather homes, offices, warehouses, and parked cars—all of which became targets of explosions and fire. Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that the number of casualties had risen to nine. According to him, women of all ages—from young to elderly—required medical assistance, and all of them were injured as a result of a combined strike by missiles and drones.
Police clarified that Russian forces struck the city with attack drones and a missile, resulting in fires and destruction. Cars caught fire in several districts of Zaporizhzhia, and a single-story building was damaged, with the fire engulfing a large area of the roof.
The State Emergency Service reported that firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the attack’s impact on the city remains significant: office buildings, warehouses, and vehicles were damaged, and the shock wave shattered windows in nearby homes. It is also noted that State Emergency Service psychologists provided assistance to 28 people, including four children, as the consequences of such strikes include not only destruction but also severe stress for residents. Rescue services continue to work at the impact sites, while law enforcement officials are documenting the aftermath of yet another strike on the city’s civilian infrastructure. This was reported on Friday by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, on social media.
On June 26, Russian troops struck the central part of Zaporizhzhia. At least six people were injured in the attack; details on the consequences are still being clarified.
