Russians' trust in Putin has fallen to its lowest level since the start of the war

According to the Russian Public Opinion Foundation (FOM), Russians’ level of trust in Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has dropped to 69%—the lowest figure since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine.

The poll was conducted on June 19–21, following a large-scale drone attack on Moscow. Over the course of a week, Putin’s approval rating fell by 5 percentage points—from 74% to 69%.

Additionally, according to the survey, the share of those who do not trust Putin rose from 15% to 18%, while the positive assessment of the Russian government’s performance fell to 44%—the lowest level in the past year. Nearly half of those surveyed also reported a sharp rise in gasoline prices.

At the same time, another Russian state-run research center—VTsIOM—released its own survey, which reported that Putin’s approval rating had risen to 76.7%.
