HUR fighters receive over 20 million UAH for Magura platforms and drones
Special forces operators of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence have received more than 20 million hryvnias from donors to purchase Magura maritime platforms and fiber-optic-controlled drones.
HUR reported this on Facebook.
“Another reinforcement for Ukraine’s military intelligence: Group 13 special-operations masters received two of the latest Magura V7 maritime platforms, while the FPV virtuosos from the Shamanbat unit received fiber-optic drones,” the statement says.
It is noted that more than 20 million UAH was donated by stand-up comedian Anton Tymoshenko. He raised the funds during his European tour — 37 performances in 29 cities over one and a half months.
The technological equipment was purchased and transferred to the intelligence operatives together with the Diana Podolianchuk Charity Foundation.
The Magura V7 drones, which can be equipped with missiles to destroy Russian aerial targets, were given symbolic names: “Setup” and “Punchline.”
“Thanks to everyone who donated and who keeps joining these fundraisers. They asked me what to name the Magura drones. I said — if there are two, let’s name them ‘Setup’ and ‘Punchline.’ It’s very symbolic. The setup is the beginning of a joke, and the punchline is, so to speak, its combat part. They say humor isn’t a weapon, but as you can see, anything is possible with your help. I hope these Maguras perform well in defending Ukraine,” Tymoshenko said.
