GUR fighters routed the "Akhmat" unit: the heaviest losses suffered by Kadyrov's forces since 2022
Ukrainian intelligence officers carried out a successful operation against the "Akhmat" unit, resulting in some of the enemy's heaviest losses since the start of the full-scale war.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the operation took place in early March 2026. It involved fighters from the “Shamanbat” special unit, which includes, among others, soldiers from Free Ichkeria, as well as the 104th “Goryn” Territorial Defense Brigade, in coordination with the human intelligence operations unit.
It is noted that as a result of drone and artillery strikes, enemy equipment—including vehicles and armored vehicles—was destroyed, and significant casualties were inflicted.
According to preliminary estimates, enemy losses amount to at least several dozen killed and about 80 wounded.
Details of the operation have not yet been disclosed. Intelligence officials promised to release more information in the near future and announced the publication of materials about the operation on May 1.
The occupiers are shelling Vovchansk in an attempt to capture the city and its surroundings, according to the "Forpost" brigade.
Ukrainian troops recently advanced in the Donetsk region. This refers to the area between Kostiantynivka and Druzhkivka, where the Defense Forces were able to improve their positions.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has lost approximately 1,271,350 troops. In the last 24 hours alone, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have eliminated another 950 occupiers.
