Budanov personally took part in special operations on Russian territory
Kirill Budanov, Head of the President’s Office and former head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, was directly involved in combat missions into the aggressor country’s territory.
This was revealed by the commander of the GUR’s “Timur Special Unit” in an interview with Natalia Moseychuk, who disclosed details of the dangerous raids.
Specifically, he spoke of complex special operations in the Graivoron direction in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. According to the military officer, Budanov’s unit was among the first to enter enemy territory, navigating difficult routes.
“It was Graivoron at first. Kirill Oleksiyovych marched alongside the unit through forests and fields,” the combat commander recalled.
During one of the stages of the special operation, a symbolic episode occurred near a local bus stop and a store. The group of special forces stopped there for a short rest at the initiative of Kirill Budanov himself.
The Head of the President’s Office emphasized to his subordinates the importance and historical significance of Ukrainian soldiers’ presence on these lands. He suggested that the fighters take a short break right there.
“He said, ‘Come on, let’s sit here, because this is also our territory,’” the unit commander recalls Budanov’s words.
As a sign of his presence, Kirill Budanov left his signature with the current date at the rest stop.
