Some regions were left without power due to shelling of power facilities

On May 26, due to hostilities and Russian shelling of energy infrastructure, some consumers in six regions of Ukraine were temporarily left without power.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The power outages affected:

  • Dnipropetrovsk region;
  • Donetsk region;
  • Zhytomyr region;
  • Zaporizhzhia Oblast;
  • Sumy Oblast;
  • Kharkiv region.

The Ministry of Energy noted that energy workers are working around the clock to restore power as quickly as possible. Emergency repair work is ongoing 24 hours a day.

At the same time, the ministry reported that as of May 26, no power rationing schedules are expected to be implemented.

Consumers were advised to monitor official announcements from their regional power companies in case of changes in the power supply situation.

Ukrainians were also urged to use electricity sparingly during morning and evening peak hours to help stabilize the country’s power grid.

Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure remain one of the main threats to the stable operation of the power grid, especially in frontline regions.

Earlier, drone attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure left consumers in the Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv regions without power.

In the Korosten community, one person was injured as a result of an attack by Russian drones. Damage to infrastructure facilities was also reported.
