The State Border Guard Service reported that no strike force had been detected coming from Belarus

On June 24, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that no buildup of strike forces or active shelling is currently being observed along the border with Belarus. The situation in this area remains under control.

This was stated by SBGS spokesperson Andriy Demchenko during a briefing.

According to him, nearly 1,800 UAVs belonging to the Russian occupiers were destroyed over the past week.

“165 of these were specifically ‘Shahed’ and ‘Gerbera’ UAVs. The enemy quite often uses the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, and periodically the Kharkiv region, to fly these UAVs directly from Russian territory.

Quite often, the route for these enemy strike drones is planned so that they fly along the border with Belarus. These drones often subsequently enter Belarusian territory and use that country’s airspace,” the State Border Guard Service spokesperson noted.

Demchenko believes the Russians are likely hoping that the Ukrainian military will be unable to shoot down the UAVs.

“And they will be able to penetrate as deep as possible into Ukrainian territory. Border crossings are often recorded in the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, with the drones subsequently moving toward the western regions,” he concluded.

Demchenko also said that Belarus is installing repeaters and other communication equipment on its territory to amplify the signal for Russian drones.

“This makes it as easy as possible for them to move deeper into Ukrainian territory. This is one of the demands the President of Ukraine has made of Belarus—that these devices be dismantled,” the spokesperson said.

The situation on the border with Belarus differs from that on the border with Russia. According to the spokesperson, no shelling from Belarus has been recorded, nor have any concentrations of strike forces ready to invade.

At the same time, according to intelligence reports, Russia continues to pressure Belarus to participate more actively in the war against Ukraine. Demchenko added that Ukraine continues to strengthen its defensive positions, engineering fortifications along the border, and mine-and-explosive barriers, reports CENSOR.NET.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia is attempting to draw Belarus deeper into the war against Ukraine and is considering new scenarios for aggression from its territory.

Belarus’s self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko, held a meeting on military equipment and announced the preparation of a new state armament program for 2026–2030.
