Drones attacked oil infrastructure in the Leningrad Region
On the night of April 4, 2026, the Leningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation came under a massive drone attack.
The main target of the attack was the area around the strategic port of Primorsk—the largest oil export hub on the Baltic Sea.
Russian authorities confirmed damage to fuel and energy facilities as a result of the raid.
The region’s governor, Alexander Drozdov, reported that an air raid alert was declared in the region after 5 a.m. Kyiv time.
According to him, air defense forces reportedly shot down 19 unmanned aerial vehicles, but were unable to prevent damage on the ground.
As a result of falling debris or direct hits, a section of the main oil pipeline in the immediate vicinity of the port of Primorsk was damaged.
Drozdzenko noted that a “safe burn-off” of petroleum products from the blocked pipeline is taking place at the accident site, which effectively means a large-scale fire at the facility.
As a reminder, drones attacked a facility in the Leningrad region.
On the night of April 2, a large-scale fire broke out at an oil refinery in the Russian city of Ufa following a drone attack.
According to analysis of photos and videos from local residents, the Bashneft-Novoyl plant, which is part of Rosneft, was hit.
