A second Greek ship was attacked near Novorossiysk within 24 hours
In the Black Sea, the Greek bulk carrier Anna S, flying the Liberian flag, caught fire following an attack. The vessel was attacked by five drones approximately 40 km from Novorossiysk.
There were 20 Filipino sailors and a Romanian captain on board. None of the crew members were injured. The ship was heading to Novorossiysk to load grain and, according to Greek media reports, was almost completely burned out.
This is the second incident involving a Greek vessel in the Novorossiysk area in the past 24 hours. The day before, the tanker Skiros, which was transporting Russian oil after loading at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal, was attacked.
Earlier, the Financial Times reported that the U.S. had asked Volodymyr Zelenskyy not to attack vessels near Novorossiysk so as not to create risks for Kazakhstani oil exports via the CPC.
