Two-thirds of Russia's strikes do not cause critical damage to substations — Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo
More than two-thirds of Russian strikes on “Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo” energy facilities do not result in significant damage thanks to the installed protection systems. This was reported by the company’s CEO, Andriy Stasevsky.
According to him, more than 60% of substations are already equipped with second-level protection, and about 70% of facilities are additionally protected by anti-drone nets. Work on erecting protective structures continues around the clock.
At the same time, the company notes that the number of attacks on energy infrastructure in 2026 has tripled compared to the same period last year. Since the beginning of July alone, energy workers have restored 16 pieces of equipment damaged by Russian shelling.
Recently, Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo also completed the reconstruction of a technical facility at one of Zaporizhzhia’s substations, which had been destroyed by a drone strike. This substation provides electricity to approximately 30,000 consumers and critical infrastructure facilities.
