In the Ukrainian capital, efforts continue to address the aftermath of the massive nighttime attack on July 2, during which Russian forces struck residential neighborhoods and infrastructure facilities.
Unfortunately, the death toll from the terrorist shelling has risen to 17.
Rescue operations at the sites of the strikes are continuing around the clock, as people may still be trapped under the rubble of damaged buildings.
Emergency services are working at 15 locations simultaneously, attempting to free the victims and clear the rubble.
In addition to the fatalities, 86 people are known to have been injured, including children. Most of the victims—70 people—are currently in medical facilities, where they are receiving the necessary care.
The Darnytskyi district of the capital suffered the most damage, where an enemy missile destroyed part of a multi-unit residential building.
Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, highlighted the occupiers’ criminal tactics: “There have been very significant direct hits on residential buildings, where, unfortunately, the dead are being recovered from under the rubble. The Russians are very deliberately targeting residential buildings.”
In total, damage has been recorded at more than 30 locations across the city, including not only residential buildings but also medical and social infrastructure facilities.
Investigators are promptly documenting the consequences of these crimes and taking statements from residents whose property was damaged or destroyed during this combined attack.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
