Photo: Writer Tais Zolotkovska's apartment was damaged in a shelling attack in Kharkiv
The apartment of Ukrainian writer Tais Zolotkovska was damaged during the shelling of Kharkiv on June 9. Details regarding the extent of the damage are still being determined. Cleanup efforts following the attack are ongoing in the city.
“I’ll never run out of material for my memoirs. Today, a drone hit my apartment in Kharkiv. It’s gone. My first apartment. I lived here for many years, choosing every item with love,” wrote Tais Zolotkovska.
The writer’s apartment is located in a building from 1908, which is a designated architectural landmark. It is currently unknown whether the city authorities will help restore the residence.
Tais Zolotkovska has been living abroad since 2018. However, as she notes, this loss still hurts, though at the same time it inspires her: “Memories will turn into texts, and I already have a title for them.”
The writer also shared photos of the destroyed apartment and a video recording capturing the moment the drone struck the building.
