On the night of September 24, Russian forces launched a massive attack on the Khmelnytskyi region using strike drones, including jet-powered drones. In Khmelnytskyi, an apartment building was damaged as a result of the attack.
According to Serhiy Tyurin, Russian forces carried out drone strikes on the Khmelnytskyi region throughout the night. Among them were jet-powered drones, which the Ukrainian Air Force had warned about the day before.
“Air defense forces were active. Some were shot down,” Tyurin stated.
The head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration noted that more detailed information on the air defense operations would be provided later.
According to the Air Force, on the night of September 24, Russia deployed 152 attack drones, of which about 80 were “Shaheds.” Ukrainian air defense shot down or neutralized 126 drones, while 26 attack drones were recorded as having struck seven locations.
Serhiy Tyurin reported that, as a result of the Russian attack, a strike on a high-rise residential building in Khmelnytskyi was recorded.
“As a result of the attack, a strike on a high-rise residential building in the regional center has been reported. All necessary emergency services have been dispatched to the scene,” Tyurin noted.
Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn provided details on the extent of the damage.
“As a result of the attack, a multi-unit residential building has been damaged. Windows have been shattered, balconies have been damaged, and cars have also been damaged,” Symchyshyn said.
Relevant emergency services are on the scene, working to address the aftermath of the Russian attack.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out 690 strikes on 55 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Six people were wounded as a result of enemy attacks on the Zaporizhzhia district.
There were 277 combat engagements on the front lines over the past 24 hours. Russian troops carried out 83 airstrikes and dropped 287 guided bombs, as well as deployed 7,467 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,469 shelling attacks.
On the night of September 24, Russian troops attacked Odesa. The strike damaged the roof and part of the top floor of a medical facility, and shattered windows in 10 nearby buildings and a school.
Russia launched a missile attack on Kyiv on the night of September 24, leaving two dead and eight injured.
Earlier, in Sumy, water supply was restricted following an airstrike due to power outages.
We should add that drones attacked the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions overnight.
As a reminder, Russia struck Kharkiv on the night of September 23, resulting in one fatality.
