Ukrainian defense forces successfully shot down a rare Russian "Klin" strike drone, which the occupiers tout as one of their most technologically advanced innovations.
A detailed analysis of the enemy drone’s components was conducted by Sergey Beskrestnov, a radio technology specialist and advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, under the pseudonym “Flash.”
This UAV was first unveiled by the aggressor in October of last year, and by March 2026, one of these units had fallen into the hands of Ukrainian specialists.
The main feature of the “Klin” is the integration of an artificial intelligence system, which allows the device to autonomously identify and attack targets without operator intervention.
According to Serhiy Beskrestnov, the drone is equipped with a powerful warhead weighing up to 5 kilograms.
In addition to automatic target acquisition, the UAV has an airburst capability, which significantly increases its effectiveness against personnel and light armored vehicles.
“Take a look at this really cool, state-of-the-art battery using the new Li-AFB technology,” noted “Flash” while analyzing the internal components of the downed drone.
The use of such power sources allows the drone to remain airborne for up to 1.5 hours and cover a distance of up to 120 kilometers.

Analysis of circuit boards and electronic components revealed that the Russians continue to use Western microchips to circumvent sanctions and create smart guidance systems.
However, the fact that such a “high-tech” target was shot down demonstrates the ability of Ukrainian electronic warfare and air defense systems to adapt to new threats.
