Russian forces are launching their most intense attacks in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors. As of May 21, 233 combat engagements were recorded along the front line over the past 24 hours. Ukrainian troops continue to repel the occupiers’ advance and inflict significant losses on the enemy. Defense forces are repelling the enemy’s attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory and are effectively striking their positions.

Yesterday, the enemy launched one missile strike using a single missile and carried out 98 airstrikes, dropping 325 guided bombs. In addition, it deployed 8,902 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,047 shelling attacks on populated areas and our troops’ positions, including 75 using multiple launch rocket systems. The aggressor carried out airstrikes, particularly in the areas of the towns of Pustogorod and Tovstodubove in the Sumy region.

Over the past day, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck five areas where enemy personnel were concentrated and one enemy artillery system.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions
Over the past day, six combat engagements took place; the aggressor carried out two airstrikes using seven guided bombs, and fired 73 times at the positions of our troops and populated areas, including four times using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction
The enemy attacked the positions of our units five times in the direction of Izbytske and in the areas of Starytsia and Lyman.
In the Kupiansk direction
The enemy attacked seven times toward the settlements of Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Hlushevka, and Novoosynove.
In the Lyman direction
The enemy attempted to breach our defenses 13 times, attacking in the areas of the settlements of Drobysheve, Dibrova, Ozerne, Stavy, Lyman, and Yampil.
In the Sloviansk direction
The enemy launched five assaults in the areas of the settlements of Zakytne and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector
The enemy carried out one assault in the area of Minkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction
The occupiers carried out 27 attacks toward Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Ivanopil, Pleshchiivka, Toretsk, Novopavlivka, Sofiivka, Vilne, Bilytske, and Kucheri Yar.
In the Pokrovsk direction
Our defenders repelled 35 assaults by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Hryshyne, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Zatyishok, Nikanorivka, Shevchenko, Vasylivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Molodetske.
In the Oleksandrivka direction
The enemy attacked five times in the areas of the settlements of Oleksandrohrad, Ivanivka, and Kalynivske.
In the Huliaipole direction
The occupiers carried out 29 attacks toward the settlements of Novoye Zaporozhye, Vozdvizhivka, Tsvitkove, Staroukrainka, Dobropillya, Zaliznychne, Gulyaypilskoye, Olenokostyantynivka, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv direction
Our defenders repelled two enemy attempts to advance in the areas of the settlements of Shcherbaky and Stepnogorsk.

On the night of May 17, a number of Russian military-industrial complex and energy facilities were struck in Moscow and the Moscow region. Strikes were carried out on an oil depot in Durikino, an oil refinery in Kapotnya, the Angstrom microelectronics plant, and the Raduga Design Bureau, which develops cruise missiles.
On the morning of May 16, Moscow also came under attack by drones, causing airports in the Russian capital to temporarily suspend operations.
The “ATESH” partisan movement claimed responsibility for a sabotage operation in the Moscow region, which disrupted the functioning of elements of the Russian air defense system on the outskirts of the capital.
