In frontline communities in Zaporizhzhia, electronic warfare equipment and drone detectors are being installed on buses
In frontline communities in the Zaporizhzhia region, passenger buses have begun to be equipped with electronic warfare (EW) systems and drone detectors.
This decision was made to protect civilians who regularly use public transportation.
The update to security measures began after another enemy attack near the village of Balabine.
Military leadership, police representatives, the State Emergency Service, and regional officials held an on-site meeting directly in the Kushuhum community. For most local residents, bus routes to the regional center are critically important.
The authorities, together with law enforcement agencies, quickly developed a plan to provide additional protection for licensed transport operators.
“The enemy is deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure and transportation in an attempt to sow fear among the population. Therefore, we are strengthening the protection of passenger transport: we are equipping buses with surveillance equipment, electronic warfare systems, and drone detectors,” said Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, announced this on Telegram.
