The General Staff reported 71 attacks by the Russian Federation since the start of the day: where the fighting is most intense

Since the start of the day, Russian troops have attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 71 times. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the situation remains most tense in the Pokrovsk sector, where the highest number of combat clashes is taking place.

The General Staff noted that artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today, the following settlements in the Sumy region were hit: Neskuchne, Bachivsk, Bezsalivka, Rohizne, Sopych, Pavlivka, Kharkivka, Volfyne, and Korenok; in the Chernihiv region—Klyusi. Mala Slobidka was hit by an airstrike.

One combat engagement took place in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions. The invaders carried out 21 attacks on settlements and Ukrainian military positions.

In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the invaders attempted five times to break through the defenses near the settlements of Starytsia, Synelnykove, Artilne, and toward Khatne.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy has not conducted any offensive operations so far.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled three attempts by the invaders to advance toward the settlements of Shyikivka, Stavy, and Lyman. Two engagements are ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 14 enemy attacks toward the settlements of Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and in the area of Riznykivka and Zakytne. Three attacks are ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian invaders launched one attack toward Tykhonivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine attacks in the areas around the settlements of Kostiantynivka and Illinivka, as well as toward Dovha Balka; two attacks are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, the invaders have attempted 17 times to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions in the areas around the settlements of Shakove, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Hryshyne, as well as toward the settlements of Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Novyi Donbas, and Serhiivka.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy attempted twice to advance in the areas of Oleksandrohrad and Berezove.

On the Huliaipole front, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 15 enemy attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, and toward the settlements of Vozdvizhivka, Huliaipole, Tsvitkove, Charivne, Verkhnia Tersa, and Staroukrainka. Two more clashes are ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy twice stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders toward the settlement of Lukyanivske.

In the Dnipro sector, the enemy has not conducted any offensive operations at this time.

In other sectors, there have been no significant changes in the situation so far. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, releasing operational information as of 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.

Kostiantynivka remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to the General Staff.

Meanwhile, Roman Svitan, a reserve colonel in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a military expert, believes that the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ operation in occupied Crimea has entered a new phase. According to him, following strikes against Russian air defense systems and logistics, the main targets are now military facilities, energy infrastructure, and infrastructure supporting the occupying forces.
