GUR declassifies manufacturers of Russia’s new “Izdelie-30” missile
The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (GUR) has released detailed technical documentation and an interactive 3D model of Russia’s new cruise missile, “Izdelie-30.”
Ukrainian intelligence identified key components of the missile and named specific enterprises in the aggressor state involved in its production cooperation.
According to military intelligence, the new missile has a wingspan of about three metres and is equipped with a powerful warhead weighing 800 kg. Its operational range is at least 1,500 km, with the first recorded use against Ukraine observed at the end of last year.
Analysis of the design showed that the development was carried out by OKB “Zvezda,” part of the “Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation.” Experts from GUR also noted significant standardisation: the pneumatic pyrovavle is identical to components of the Kh-35U missile, and the ejection system is similar to those used in Kh-101 and Kh-555 missiles.
The missile’s satellite navigation relies on developments from two Russian companies, VNII Progress and KB Navis. In particular, it uses a jamming-resistant “Kometa-M12” receiver, intended to ensure strike accuracy even under electronic warfare conditions.
A key discovery highlighted that Russia’s high-tech weapons are critically dependent on Western technologies. The intelligence report emphasises that all three components of the navigation system contain foreign-made parts sourced from the United States, Switzerland, China and the Netherlands.
The electronic control unit of the BUBS-30 warhead is built around a Russian 32-bit microcontroller produced by PKK Milandr. This indicates Russian attempts to replace critical nodes with domestic substitutes, yet the overall system architecture still relies on foreign components.
