Over the past 24 hours, 13 civilians were injured in Russian attacks in the Sumy region. Dozens of settlements in the region came under fire, and Russian drones attacked civilian vehicles, homes, and farms. The police have already opened criminal cases under the article on war crimes.
The Sumy region has once again endured a difficult day due to Russian shelling. According to regional police, Russian forces attacked 41 settlements, and 13 civilians were injured as a result of the strikes.
The highest number of casualties was recorded in the Sumy community. There, a 21-year-old woman and men aged 25, 35, 35, 37, 46, and 57 were injured in an attack by Russian drones. In the Kyrykivka community, a Russian drone struck a civilian vehicle. A 63-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were injured in the strike.
There are also casualties in the Velykopysarivska community, where a 47-year-old woman was wounded. In the Bilopil community, three men aged 33, 36, and 78 were injured. All of them were injured as a result of attacks by Russian drones.
In addition to the injured, there is significant damage. The shelling damaged apartment buildings and private homes, farm buildings, a store, cars, a motorcycle, a combine harvester, and a hangar. Investigative and operational teams and police bomb disposal experts worked at the sites of the strikes, documenting the consequences of the attacks and collecting evidence.
The police reported that criminal proceedings have already been opened for all incidents under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—“War Crimes.” “The enemy has been attacking the Sumy region all day,” the regional State Emergency Service noted earlier, commenting on the situation in the region.
Law enforcement officials add that the investigation is ongoing, and information regarding the consequences of the Russian strikes may be updated.
