The Main Intelligence Directorate struck an oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar Krai
On September 13, operators from the Active Operations Department and the Unmanned Systems Department of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as part of a joint deepstrike operation with the Defense Forces, struck the “Slavyansk-ECO” oil refinery in the city of Slov’yansk-on-Kuban in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, a key oil refining facility, as well as the plant’s tank farm, were struck during the operation.
“As a result of the operation, a key oil refining unit and the facility’s storage tanks—which fuel the criminal war against Ukraine—were struck,” the statement reads.
It is noted that the facility is one of the Russian fuel infrastructure sites supporting the war against Ukraine.
A massive fire broke out on the grounds of the Russian oil refinery following the strike.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, thick smoke and the glow from the fire were visible from dozens of kilometers away.
The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) noted that the operation was carried out by personnel from two intelligence units in coordination with the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense on Facebook.
On the morning of September 13, oil refining infrastructure was attacked in Nizhnekamsk, in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. The city is home to one of the largest and most modern oil refining complexes in the Russian Federation.
On the night of September 12, Ukrainian drones continued to respond symmetrically to Russian attacks on our cities. The drones struck two Russian cities—Tolyatti and Taganrog. In Togliatti, a strategic chemical plant was targeted, while in Taganrog, several fires were reported, including at the airport and an automobile plant.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated: Russia, as an aggressor state, will face a response if it launches strikes against Ukraine’s energy system this winter.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the results of Ukrainian long-range strikes aimed at weakening Russia’s capacity to wage war against Ukraine. In particular, Ukrainian strikes hit targets in Dagestan and Udmurtia.
The Brave1 platform has developed an air defense system capable of destroying Russian “Banderole” drone missiles. Importantly, it is significantly cheaper than the targets it destroys.
