Russia struck gas stations and trucks near the border with Poland

On the night of September 13, Russian troops attacked the area around the “Yagodin–Dorohusk” international border crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border. A gas station was damaged by falling debris near the border.

According to the Volyn Customs Office, the falling debris caused a fire at the gas station and in several trucks parked nearby.

Valentina Chernysh, a spokesperson for the Volyn Customs Office, reported that during an air raid alert, all operations at the border are suspended, and people must take shelter.

Margarita Vershynina, a spokeswoman for the Volyn Border Guard Detachment, clarified that customs operations at the “Yagodin–Dorohusk” international border crossing are temporarily suspended during an air raid alert to prevent crowds from gathering.

However, as of 10:00 a.m. on September 13, the border crossing was already operating normally.

The “Yagodin–Dorohusk” international border crossing is located in the Kovel District of Volyn Oblast on the border with Poland and operates 24 hours a day.

As of June 27, 2022, only freight vehicles and buses are permitted to cross the border through this checkpoint.

Passenger car traffic through the “Yagodyn–Dorohusk” checkpoint is prohibited.

Thus, despite damage to the infrastructure near the border crossing and the need to temporarily suspend operations during the air raid alert, operations at “Yagodin–Dorohusk” resumed once the danger had passed.

This was reported by “Suspilne.”

No hits were recorded at the “Yagodyn” border crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border during Russia’s nighttime airstrike.

The “Starokozache–Tudora” border crossing on the border with Moldova has resumed operations following a nighttime attack by Russian drones. Currently, vehicle processing is proceeding as usual in both directions.

All border crossing points along Ukraine’s state border are currently operating as usual, including those that had previously been targeted by Russian attacks.
