Sybiga called on the West to impose tough sanctions following the attack near Yagodyn
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga responded to the Russian attack near the “Yagodin” border crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border and called on Western partners to take immediate action. According to him, Russian terror is effectively approaching the borders of the European Union and NATO.
The foreign minister called the Russian attack “Putin’s terror” and stated that Moscow is deliberately continuing its strikes near Ukraine’s state borders.
“Russia’s barbaric strikes on the Ukrainian-Polish ‘Yagodin’ border crossing are not merely a continuation of attacks on our state borders. This is Putin’s terror, ‘knocking’ directly on the doors of the EU and NATO. The Russian barbarians are at your gates, dear partners,” Sibiga emphasized.
The minister called on international partners to intensify sanctions pressure on Russia and its military-industrial complex.
“Make Moscow feel the consequences of its terror. We need not half-measures, but uncompromising and decisive steps. A complete trade embargo. A complete travel ban. Full sanctions against the military-industrial complex,” he explained.
According to Sibiga, Vladimir Putin must understand that his aggression will be met with decisive action that will raise the cost of war for Russia to an unacceptable level.
“This is the only way to stop Putin,” the minister emphasized.
Earlier, Andriy Demchenko, a spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, reported that there was no direct hit on the “Yagodin” border crossing.
At the same time, following the Russian Federation’s nighttime attack, a gas station near the border crossing was damaged, and a large-scale fire broke out on its premises.
During the air raid alert, border crossing operations at the “Yagodin–Dorohusk” checkpoint were temporarily suspended for public safety reasons. Subsequently, the checkpoint resumed normal operations.

On the night of September 13, Russian troops attacked the area around the “Yagodin–Dorohusk” international border crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border. A gas station was damaged by falling debris near the border.
No hits were recorded at the “Yagodin” border crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border during Russia’s nighttime airstrike.
The “Starokozache–Tudora” border crossing on the border with Moldova has resumed operations following a nighttime attack by Russian drones. Currently, vehicle processing is proceeding as usual in both directions.
All border crossing points along Ukraine’s state border are currently operating as usual, including those that had previously been targeted by Russian attacks.
