Spain supplies Ukraine with powerful Lanza LTR-25 radar with a range of 450 km
Spain’s Ministry of Defence has signed a contract to supply Ukraine with the Lanza LTR-25 tactical radar produced by leading manufacturer Indra Sistemas.
This was reported on the official website of Spain’s Council of Ministers.
The value of the contract amounts to €37 million. This mobile 3D radar station will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s air defence capabilities.
The Lanza LTR-25 system operates in the L-band and features a phased-array antenna, ensuring precise airspace surveillance.
It is capable of detecting not only aircraft, but also small-sized targets such as drones and low-observable cruise missiles. The radar is resilient to complex electronic warfare conditions, including jamming and interference.
The radar’s compactness is notable: it can be transported by a single C-130 aircraft or by two trucks and deployed within two hours. This allows for rapid repositioning, helping to avoid enemy counterattacks.
Integration with NATO networks enables real-time transmission of target coordinates to air defence systems.
It should be recalled that Spain has also initiated a “coalition of the willing” aimed at creating a European army.
In addition, Spain has secured the return of its citizens from prisons in Venezuela.
