Homes and infrastructure damaged in Shostka following a drone attack

On the night of May 30, Russian forces launched a massive drone strike on the Shostka community in Sumy Oblast, damaging residential buildings and infrastructure. Despite the scale of the destruction, preliminary reports indicate there were no fatalities or injuries. Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram.

 

Overnight, the Shostka community in Sumy Oblast came under a massive attack by Russian drones, which struck residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure, causing extensive damage and disruptions to the city’s daily life.

According to Oleg Grigorov, head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, defense forces managed to destroy some of the enemy drones, but hits were also recorded, resulting in damage to civilian infrastructure, residential and non-residential buildings, administrative facilities, and transportation. “Defense forces managed to destroy some of the enemy drones. However, unfortunately, there were hits. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties or injuries,” he noted, emphasizing that the extent of the damage is still being assessed.

 

According to local authorities, residential areas were hit hardest—in Shostka, 11 high-rise buildings were damaged, as well as three non-residential buildings, passenger cars, and other civilian infrastructure.

 

Shostka Mayor Mykola Noha confirmed that emergency and rescue services are on the ground, addressing the aftermath of the attack and helping residents repair damaged homes. “Part of the community is without power as a result of recent enemy shelling,” he added, noting that the energy situation remains difficult and restoration work is ongoing.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops attacked four districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region simultaneously using drones, resulting in fires and damage to infrastructure. 
 

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out 911 strikes on 40 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. The occupiers used aircraft, artillery, and hundreds of drones, damaging residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure.
