Kherson receives as much electricity as a single supermarket in Kyiv
Due to intensified Russian shelling, Kherson’s power supply has plummeted to critical levels. Currently, the entire city is receiving roughly the same amount of electricity as a single supermarket in Kyiv consumes.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, damage to the energy infrastructure could leave the city without power for an extended period. Authorities are seeking alternative solutions for electricity and heat supply.
Prokudin also stated that Russian troops are using Kherson to train and test weapons, after which they may redeploy them to other sectors of the front.
Every day, about 20 people are injured or killed in the city as a result of Russian attacks. Meanwhile, about 80% of the population has already left Kherson.
The head of the Regional Military Administration emphasized that the city’s electricity supply situation has significantly worsened compared to previous years, and Russian strikes on Kherson continue to intensify.

Russian occupation forces attacked a shuttle bus and a passenger car with a drone in the Central District of Kherson. The attack resulted in one civilian fatality and several injuries.
As a reminder, the intensity of Russian attacks on Kherson has increased 2.5-fold since the beginning of the year. At the same time, only about 20% of the city’s pre-war population remains—approximately 60,000 people out of 300,000.
Over the past week, Russian forces have struck border crossing points in southern Ukraine four times. On the border with Moldova, the “Vynogradivka–Vulcanesti” border crossing was damaged, while the “Tabaky–Mirne” checkpoint was completely destroyed; the “Orlivka–Isakcha” checkpoint on the border with Romania was also hit.
As of the morning of September 4, power outages were reported in four regions of Ukraine as a result of new Russian shelling. Utility workers continue to work on restoring power and addressing the consequences of the enemy attacks.
