The number of casualties from the Russian Federation's attack on Kyiv has risen
As a result of the Russian shelling of Kyiv, 17 people have already been injured, and efforts to address the aftermath of the attack are ongoing. Investigators have received approximately 350 reports from residents of the capital regarding property damage; among the affected sites are residential buildings, stores, and a metro station.
Law enforcement officials state that the death toll remains unchanged—an 89-year-old woman died as a result of the attack.
As of 3:30 p.m., investigators had received approximately 350 reports from residents regarding property damage. Damage has been documented to a pharmacy, a dormitory, administrative buildings, a movie theater, office spaces, and vehicles, according to the Kyiv Police.
On the night of July 18–19, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. One person was killed and eight others were injured as a result of the attack. Damage and fires were reported in five districts of the capital.
Over the course of July 17, Russian forces launched strikes on Kharkiv and 29 other settlements in the Kharkiv region. Two people were killed and 18 others were injured in the shelling; among the victims were five children.
Throughout the day on July 17, the Chernihiv region came under attack from enemy drones. Fires broke out in several districts at once, but Ukrainian rescue workers have already extinguished them.
