Kremlin backs Trump’s statement on Zelensky and peace
The Kremlin has stated that it agrees with US President Donald Trump’s remarks that Kyiv is slowing down the process of achieving a peaceful resolution to the war.
This was reported by Russian state-controlled media.
US President Donald Trump told Reuters in an interview that it is Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, not Kremlin host Vladimir Putin, who is delaying a peace deal.
“One can agree here, indeed (with Trump’s view – Ed.). That is indeed the case. President Putin and the Russian side maintain their openness,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov when responding to journalists on Thursday.
He added that the situation is “worsening for the Kyiv regime” day by day.
“The corridor for Kyiv to make a decision is narrowing. And, of course, it is long past time for Zelensky to take responsibility and make the appropriate decision,” Peskov stated.
He also noted that the Russian position is well known to both American negotiators and President Trump. “It is also well known in Kyiv, to the leadership of the Kyiv regime. This position is consistent,” the Kremlin spokesperson said.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Russia has recorded a record rise in serious crimes, according to the Center for Strategic Communications.
In Kyiv, a Russian drone recently fell on a private house during an attack.
Additionally, eight people, including children, were injured in a Russian attack in the Kharkiv region.
