Zircon missiles, ballistic missiles, and hundreds of drones were launched: Air defenses repelled Russia's nighttime attack
On the night of September 24, Russia attacked Ukraine with anti-ship and ballistic missiles, as well as 282 attack drones. Air defense forces destroyed most of the enemy targets, repelling yet another massive attack.
Last night, the Russians launched attacks using:
- “Zircon” anti-ship missiles from the Kursk, Rostov, and Oryol regions;
- “Iskander-M”/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Kursk and Bryansk regions;
- 282 Shahed-type strike drones (including jet-powered ones), “Gerbera” drones, and “Banderol”/“Dan-T,” and “Parody”-type decoy drones from the following directions: Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk—Russian Federation; the temporarily occupied territories (TOT) of Donetsk, Gvardeyskoye, and Chauda—TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea; and the waters of the Sea of Azov.
The main targets of the attack were the Odesa and Kyiv regions.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defense systems shot down or neutralized 227 targets:
- 4 “Zircon” anti-ship missiles;
- 3 “Iskander-M”/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
- 1 “Banderole”/“Dan-T”;
- 219 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Shahed and “Gerbera” types, as well as other types of drones.
Enemy airstrikes were recorded at 13 locations, and debris from downed targets was found at 10 locations.

As a reminder, a Shahed struck a high-rise building in Khmelnytskyi.
Russia launched a missile attack on Kyiv on the night of September 24, leaving two dead and eight injured.
Earlier, in Sumy, water supply was restricted following an airstrike due to power outages.
We would also like to note that drones attacked the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions overnight.
As a reminder, Russia struck Kharkiv on the night of September 23, resulting in one fatality.
