Lubinets: Russia has executed 337 Ukrainian prisoners of war
Ukraine’s Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets has stated that, as of the end of 2025, Russia had executed 337 Ukrainian prisoners of war.
He made the statement during a session of the United Nations Human Rights Council as part of an interactive dialogue with the UN Special Rapporteur on torture.
According to Lubinets, Russia has turned torture into an instrument of state policy and uses it as a weapon. Citing UN data, he said that more than 95% of Ukrainian prisoners of war are subjected to systematic torture.
The ombudsman called on the international community to increase pressure on Russia, ensure full documentation of every crime, and bring those responsible to justice.
“This issue is critically important — the world cannot stand aside,” he stressed.
Earlier, Ukraine succeeded in returning a group of children from the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, where they had been living under constant threats and Russian drone attacks.
First Lady Olena Zelenska stated in Paris that Ukraine has brought home 1,859 children abducted by Russia and is creating programmes to provide them with psychological and social support.
