Marines destroyed a boat carrying Russian troops in the Kherson region using a drone
UAV operators from the 1st Battalion of the 40th Separate Marine Brigade sank a boat carrying Russian occupiers who were attempting to cross the Dnipro River.
The Ukrainian Navy reported on the successful operation in the Kherson region on March 23, 2026, releasing a video of the combat operation. The enemy landing party was destroyed by a precise drone strike during another attempt by the invaders to cross the river.
The destruction of the vessel was the result of the professional actions of Ukrainian marines, who identified the target and swiftly eliminated it. The Navy command emphasized that the drone operators flew in and destroyed the invaders directly on the water. This event underscores the effectiveness of using unmanned systems in countering Russian landing attempts on the southern sector of the front.
Earlier, in the Dnipro region, the enemy made six unsuccessful attempts to seize footholds on Bilohrudy Island and near the Antonivsky Road Bridge, trying to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions.
The Russians are staging "captures" of territory in front of drones to create the illusion of success, but they have no real control over the islands. Ukrainian defense forces control the island zone and are thwarting any enemy attempts to establish logistics for assault groups.
