Air defense forces have shot down 147 out of 172 Russian drones, with hits reported in several regions
On the night of April 17, Russian forces carried out a large-scale air strike on Ukraine, using a ballistic missile and dozens of attack drones of various types.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.
According to the Air Force, the enemy launched one Iskander-M ballistic missile from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as 172 drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others. About 120 of them were “Shahed”-type kamikaze drones.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare forces, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 08:00, air defense forces had destroyed or neutralized 147 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, a ballistic missile and 20 strike drones were recorded hitting eight locations. Additionally, debris from downed targets fell in four other locations.
The attack is currently ongoing—enemy drones remain in the airspace. Citizens are urged not to ignore air raid sirens and to follow safety guidelines.
On the morning of April 17, Russian troops launched an attack on Dnipro, resulting in a fire.
Starting in the evening of April 14, Russian occupiers launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, using 3 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 324 drones of various types. Air defense forces neutralized most of the targets, but some hits were recorded.
In the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, law enforcement officers discovered the warhead of a Russian Iskander-K missile. A controlled destruction of the munition is planned at the site.
On the night of April 15, three people were injured in Dnipro and the surrounding region as a result of Russian drone strikes, and damage to civilian infrastructure was reported.
