The Ministry of Internal Affairs Has Revealed the True Scale of the Problem of Ukrainians Missing Without a Trace
In Ukraine, more than 114,000 civilians and military personnel are officially listed as missing. At the same time, law enforcement agencies are continuing their work to identify thousands of unidentified bodies, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
This was stated by Interior Minister Ivan Vygivsky during a meeting with representatives of the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA).
According to the minister, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are using supplies provided by the United Kingdom to collect biological samples as part of their efforts to locate missing persons.
Vygivskyi also noted that police officers are among the first to arrive at the sites of Russian missile and drone attacks, where they assist the victims, participate in rescue operations, and free people from under the rubble.
Documenting Russia’s war crimes remains a separate area of focus. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, investigators have already entered more than 220,000 criminal cases involving crimes committed by Russian military personnel into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations.
More than 100 clashes took place on the front lines over the past 24 hours.
As a reminder, a gas station and a business were damaged as a result of a Russian attack on the Poltava region.
In Dnipro on Friday, August 7, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse was destroyed in an attack. No one was on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.
Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers lost 1,130 soldiers and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.
