The situation on the front remains tense and dynamic, as Russian troops carried out hundreds of attacks of varying intensity over the past 24 hours, attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses in several directions at once, but encountered resistance from the Defense Forces everywhere.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a summary as of 10:00 PM on May 14, 2026, which notes that the total number of combat engagements over the past 24 hours reached 202, indicating high intensity of hostilities across the entire front line. “In total, 202 combat engagements have taken place since the start of this day. The enemy launched one missile strike, using 55 missiles, and carried out 61 airstrikes—dropping 218 guided bombs. In addition, they deployed 5,202 kamikaze drones and carried out 1,964 shelling attacks on populated areas and our troops’ positions,” the General Staff’s report states.
The situation remains most tense in the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy carried out 30 attacks, attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses simultaneously in a number of settlements; however, the Defense Forces held their positions and inflicted losses on the occupiers.
According to preliminary estimates, 79 Russian soldiers were killed in this sector over the past 24 hours, with another 16 wounded; equipment, including vehicles, artillery, and personnel shelters, was also destroyed or damaged, and some enemy drones were shot down or jammed using electronic warfare systems.
Active combat operations continued in other sectors of the front—from the Sumy and Kharkiv regions to the Donbas and southern sectors, where Russian troops continued to launch assaults in small groups and employed aviation and artillery.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 21 attacks; in the Huliaipole sector, 16; and fighting was also reported in the Lyman, Kupiansk, Sloviansk, and Orikhiv sectors, where the enemy failed to make significant advances.
Despite constant pressure and the large-scale use of weapons, the Defense Forces are holding their positions, stabilizing the situation in key areas, and continuing to inflict losses on the enemy in both equipment and personnel.
The occupiers complain that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are cutting off the land corridor to Crimea with drones.
Over the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated another 1,020 Russian troops on the front lines.
