Over the past 24 hours, 236 clashes took place on the front lines, with the heaviest fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors

Over the past day, 236 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian occupiers. The heaviest fighting took place in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors.

Over the past day, Russian troops carried out 87 airstrikes, during which they dropped 317 guided bombs.

In addition, the occupiers deployed 10,816 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,723 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas. Of these, 22 attacks were carried out using multiple-launch rocket systems.

The following locations in the Sumy region came under artillery fire: Sopych, Baranivka, Neskuchne, Korenok, Potapivka, Mogrytsia, Kucherivka, Iskryskivshchyna, Rohizne, Hirky, Bachivsk, and Volfyne.

Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck 11 areas where Russian troops were concentrated.

Four artillery pieces and artillery positions, one UAV command post, one air defense system, and another key enemy target were also destroyed.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out three assault operations. The enemy conducted 168 shelling attacks and launched four airstrikes using 13 KAB bombs.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian units repelled 12 attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance toward Loshakove, Okhrimivka, Chuhunivka, Zarubinka, Izbytske, Lyman, and near Starytsia.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy carried out 11 assaults, attempting to advance toward Radkivka, Kivsharivka, Dovhenke, Kurylivka, and Kupiansk.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops launched nine attacks in the areas of Shyikivka, Drobyshove, Lyman, Dibrova, and Novoselivka.

In the Sloviansk sector, six assaults were recorded near Ozerne, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and Kryva Luka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops carried out one offensive operation toward Nikonorivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, 21 enemy attacks were recorded. The occupiers stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and Novyi Shakhovyi, and also attempted to advance toward Pavlivka, Vilne, and Stepanivka.

The Pokrovsk sector saw the most attacks—40. Russian troops attempted to advance toward Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Matyashivka, Serhiivka, Myrne, and Novopavlivka, as well as in the areas of Udachne and Molodetske.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Ukrainian forces repelled two Russian attacks in the areas of Novoheorhiivka and Novozaporizhzhia.

On the Huliaipole sector, the enemy carried out 13 attacks, attempting to advance toward Dobropillia, Vozdvizhivka, Kopaniv, Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipole, Tsvitkove, and Charivne.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces repelled four Russian attempts to advance near Mala Tokmachka, Stepnogorsk, and Shcherbakiv.

In the Dnipro sector, no offensive actions by Russian forces were recorded.

At the same time, no signs of the Russian Federation forming offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya sectors.

Thus, over the past 24 hours, 236 combat engagements took place on the front, with the highest level of Russian military activity observed in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors.

This is stated in the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 8:00 a.m. on September 5.

On the night of September 5, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using “Iskander-M/KN-23” ballistic missiles and 167 attack drones.

Russian occupiers attacked the “Epicenter” shopping mall in Mykolaiv several times. Two people were injured as a result of the strikes, and fires broke out at the impact sites.

In Kyiv, Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine had proposed to Russia—the aggressor state—that it temporarily suspend airstrikes during negotiations related to possible visits by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

In the U.S., President Donald Trump stated that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are traveling abroad to try to reach a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia—the aggressor state.
