Over the past 24 hours, 244 battles took place on the front lines, with the heaviest fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk sector
As of 8:00 a.m. on August 18, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recorded 244 combat engagements over the past 24 hours. Russian troops carried out the most attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, where the heaviest fighting continues.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors over the past day, our defenders repelled 17 enemy assaults. At the same time, the aggressor carried out three airstrikes, dropping nine bombs, and fired 64 times at the positions of our troops and populated areas, including nine attacks using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian units repelled seven enemy attacks. The invaders attempted to advance in the Vovchansk area and toward the settlements of Bochkove, Lyman, Izbytske, Nesterne, and Volokhivka.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched five offensives toward Radkivka and Petropavlivka.
Attempts to breach our defenses were repelled in the Lyman sector, where the occupiers attacked twice in the areas around the settlements of Zarichne and Novoselivka.
In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy carried out 17 assaults in the areas around the settlements of Riznykivka, Kryva Luka, and Zakytne, as well as toward Rai-Oleksandrivka and Mykolaivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian invaders carried out five offensive operations in the area of Minkivka and toward Yurkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 27 attacks were recorded. The invaders carried out assaults in the areas around the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Novoselivka, Sofiivka, and Rusyn Yar, as well as toward the settlements of Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, and Novopavlivka.
The enemy carried out 34 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction. The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas around the settlements of Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and Novomykolaivka, as well as toward the settlements of Novyi Donbas, Hannivka, Shevchenko, Bilytske, Novohryshyne, Myrne, Vasylivka, Serhiivka, Svitle, and Filiya.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the invaders carried out one attack toward Novy Zaporizhzhia.
In the Huliaipole direction, the occupiers attacked the positions of our defenders 11 times. The enemy attempted to advance toward the settlements of Rivne, Vozdvizhivka, Tsvitkove, Hirke, Charivne, and in the Zaliznychne area.
In the Orikhiv sector, our defenders repelled four enemy attempts to advance toward Primorske, Lukyanivske, and the Plavni area.
In the Dnipro sector, one clash with the enemy took place.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were detected.
In total, over the past day, the Russian invaders suffered 1,210 casualties. Additionally, two tanks, seven armored combat vehicles, 55 artillery systems, three multiple launch rocket systems, five air defense systems, 19 ground-based robotic systems, 1,962 unmanned aerial vehicles, one heavy flamethrower system, 443 enemy vehicles, and seven units of specialized equipment were neutralized.

Over the course of August 17, Russian troops attacked 59 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing two people and wounding four others. Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported on the consequences of the Russian strikes.
As a reminder, air defense systems were activated in the Kyiv region due to a Russian attack.
Earlier, Ukraine officially classified the long-range “Dovbush T40” unmanned aerial vehicle.
