In the Huliaipole area, Russian forces are attacking positions and hindering evacuations

Despite the declared ceasefire, Russian troops continue active combat operations in the Huliaipole area, specifically attacking the positions of Ukrainian defenders and obstructing the evacuation of the wounded and the dead.

This was reported on the “Yedyni Novyny” telethon by Yuriy Syrotiuk, chief sergeant of the unmanned systems battalion of the 5th Assault Brigade.

According to him, during the so-called ceasefire, the enemy refrained from using only certain types of weapons, but overall, the intensity of the fighting remained high.

“The only thing missing was KABs and ‘suicide drones.’ But all other means were actively used. The Russians tried to storm and advance; we observed motorcycle movements. We did not allow the enemy to do what they had previously attempted. When the ceasefire was announced, the Russians surged forward en masse, massed their forces, infiltrated, and improved their positions ahead of the offensive,” the soldier said.

Currently, according to him, in the area of responsibility of the 5th Assault Brigade, the occupiers are trying to maintain a high intensity of the offensive by deploying more well-trained units there.

“The quality of these soldiers varies. They’re sending people on crutches to the front lines—we’re seeing this more and more often here. Generally speaking, they still have to reach the position. It takes the Russians two or three days to get to the zone where they’re trying to infiltrate and move forward,” Sirotyuk noted.

Ukrainian troops continue to repel enemy attacks and prevent them from establishing a foothold in new positions.
