In the Sloviansk area, the enemy is disguising itself as civilians
In the Sloviansk sector, Russian troops are attempting to penetrate deep into Ukrainian positions by disguising themselves as civilians. According to Ukrainian military officials, such groups have been spotted in populated areas, where they are waiting for reinforcements to carry out further operations. At the same time, the enemy is estimated to be suffering significant losses in every village.
Stepan Barna, commander of the “Barni” unit of the motorized infantry battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss,” spoke about this on “Suspilne News.”
In the Sloviansk direction, according to Ukrainian military officials, Russian units are using infiltration tactics, attempting to penetrate deep into territories controlled by the Defense Forces, particularly by disguising themselves as civilians, which makes it difficult to detect such groups on the ground.
According to him, the intensity of combat operations in this sector remains high, and the enemy combines assault operations with strikes using guided aerial bombs, attempting to pressure Ukrainian defenses simultaneously from various directions. “A key component of the Russians’ offensive operations is infiltration, during which the enemy attempts to penetrate deep into territory controlled by the Defense Forces. They infiltrate by any means necessary, even disguised as civilians,” Barna noted.
He added that such groups are sometimes detected in populated areas already within defensive positions, where they behave like civilians, waiting for the right moment to advance further or receive reinforcements. “There have been cases where such saboteurs were detected in populated areas; they were simply drinking there, minding their own business. But they were waiting for the ‘zero hour’ when enemy forces would arrive to reinforce their strike force,” the commander said.
According to the military official, despite such tactics, the enemy is suffering significant losses in battles in this sector, particularly in certain settlements where fighting is especially intense. “It is clear that the enemy is suffering terrible losses. In Riznykivka, for example, they lost more than 500 occupiers. And the enemy is paying this price in every settlement,” he added.
As a reminder, Russia attacked a substation in the Kramatorsk district with an FPV drone.
In the Zolochiv community of the Kharkiv region, a Russian drone attacked the Hryhorii Skovoroda National Literary and Memorial Museum.
