In the Sumy region, 19 children and 18 adults were injured as a result of Russian attacks
Over the past 24 hours, the Sumy region has come under an attack of unprecedented intensity by Russian occupation forces.
The enemy carried out more than 60 shelling attacks, targeting 35 settlements in 18 territorial communities, resulting in mass casualties among the civilian population and widespread destruction.
According to official data from the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the worst tragedy occurred in the regional capital.
As a result of a nighttime attack by an enemy drone in the Sumy community, 19 children were injured, the youngest of whom was only two years old.
In addition, 10 adult residents of the city sustained injuries of varying severity, including a 92-year-old man.
The enemy strikes covered nearly the entire border area. In the Popivka community, a rocket strike injured two elderly women, while in the Sveska and Hlukhiv communities, Russian drones struck passenger cars carrying people.
The total number of casualties over the past 24 hours is in the dozens, and the air raid alert in the region lasted almost continuously—over 23 hours.
Russia used a wide range of weapons in the attacks: from mortars and artillery to guided aerial bombs (KABs), missiles, and FPV drones.
The highest number of strikes was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts, where the enemy deliberately destroyed residential buildings, administrative buildings, and critical infrastructure facilities.
As a reminder, Russia is attacking Kharkiv with drones, and fires and destruction are being reported across the city.
