Neptune struck at least 26 Russian targets: the flight path of the Ukrainian missile has been revealed
The OSINT project Dnipro OSINT has published a study on the development of the Ukrainian “Neptune” cruise missile and its combat use.
According to analysts, open-source data has confirmed the destruction of at least 26 Russian targets using 31 missiles.
Among the study’s key findings:
▪️ The first confirmed strike by the ground-based version of the “Neptune” took place in August 2023 against an S-400 launcher at Cape Tarkhankut in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
▪️ According to publicly available data, there are at least two variants of the missile: the R-360M, with a range of up to 500 km and a warhead weighing approximately 350 kg, and the R-360L, which has an increased fuel capacity.
▪️ Most often, “Neptunes” were used against ships of the Russian Federation’s Black Sea Fleet, port infrastructure, and military logistics. The destruction of two large amphibious assault ships, a reconnaissance vessel, a repair ship, and a rail ferry has been confirmed.
▪️ Enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex were also among the priority targets. At least five strikes on the “Atlant-Aero” and “Elektrodetal” plants have been confirmed.
▪️ Analysts also noted a strike on the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery, after which the facility completely ceased operations.
▪️ According to Dnipro OSINT’s assessment, the increase in the number of confirmed attacks may indicate the serial production of “Neptune” missiles and the refinement of tactics for their use.
