German diplomats remain in Kyiv despite threats from Russia

The German Embassy has no plans to evacuate diplomats from Kyiv following threats from the Russian Foreign Ministry. The diplomatic mission stated that German diplomats continue to work in the Ukrainian capital.

The diplomatic mission said it is concerned about the threats from the Russian Foreign Ministry. “Together with other heads of diplomatic missions in Kyiv, we view the Russian Foreign Ministry’s threats against diplomats and foreign citizens in Ukraine with concern,” the embassy said.

The embassy also reminded Russia of its international obligations. German diplomats separately emphasized the need to comply with the Vienna Convention and the norms of international humanitarian law.

“Russia must comply with the Vienna Convention and the norms of international humanitarian law. We are staying in Kyiv,” the diplomats noted.

On the night of October 4, Russian forces launched 135 drones into Ukrainian territory, including “Shaheds,” “Gerberas,” “Banderole”/“Dan-T,” and decoy drones.

On the morning of October 4, Russian forces struck downtown Dnipro, hitting the premises of a telecommunications company.

In the Dnipro district of the capital, debris from enemy drones was found at two locations on the morning of October 4. This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
