The occupiers are attempting to establish a buffer zone in the Dnipropetrovsk region
The Russian military command continues to attempt to expand the occupied zone and reach the administrative borders of new regions.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that the invaders’ current strategic goal is to seize additional territories to create a so-called “buffer zone” within the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Despite massive losses in manpower and armored vehicles, the enemy continues to redeploy available reserves to maintain the pace of the offensive.
Russian troops are attempting to exhaust Ukrainian defenses as much as possible, exploiting their superiority in artillery and air support in certain sectors of the front.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the situation remains extremely tense, as the occupiers are focusing their efforts on storming key settlements.
In particular, combat clashes are ongoing in the areas of Ternove, Oleksandrohrad, Ivanivka, Zelenyi Hai, and Andriivka-Klevtsove.
According to official data from the General Staff, 64 enemy attacks were recorded in this sector last week alone.
The enemy is also attempting to advance toward Sosnivka, Verbove, and Zlagoda, hoping to cut off the logistics routes of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
At the same time, Ukrainian defenders are making progress in the offensive operations that have been ongoing in this direction since late January.
During this time, the Defense Forces have managed to regain control of 480 square kilometers of territory, liberating eight settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region and four in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized that the Ukrainian army is consistently implementing a strategy of active defense, which allows it not only to contain the enemy but also to deliver painful blows against it.
Our units are systematically destroying logistics hubs, ammunition depots, and enemy troop deployment sites.
Ukraine’s defense forces are adapting military training to effectively counter enemy drones and modern threats on the battlefield.
Also, on the night of April 4, Russia attacked Ukraine with nearly three hundred drones. Air defense forces neutralized 260 of them. At the same time, hits and falling debris were recorded in several regions.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and 25 others were wounded in Russian attacks over the past 24 hours. Kherson and dozens of settlements in the region were targeted.
