Partisans claimed to have destroyed communications hubs in the Belgorod region of Russia

Agents of the "ATESH" partisan movement reported carrying out a series of sabotage operations in Russia's Belgorod Oblast. According to their reports, telecommunications equipment on communication towers—which was used to transmit data on the air situation—was destroyed.

The movement stated that the operations took place near the settlements of Belenikhino, Shakhov, and Ploty. 

According to the partisans, equipment that was simultaneously used in communication and air defense systems was disabled at each of the sites.

According to movement members, the destroyed nodes facilitated the transmission of information about air targets in the lower control sector.

“ATESH” claims that after the equipment was damaged, Russian air defense systems in the area lost the ability to quickly receive some data on drones, which could have affected the speed of detecting air threats.

The group’s statement notes that the operations were carried out on the eve of Russia Day.

ATESH representatives stated that each destroyed communications node weakens the enemy’s military infrastructure and creates additional difficulties for the operation of airspace control systems.

At this time, no independent confirmation of the claimed consequences of the sabotage or comments from Russian authorities regarding the incidents have been released.
