Five regions of Ukraine were left without power due to Russian attacks
On the morning of July 9, new emergency power outages were reported in five regions of Ukraine as a result of attacks by Russian forces. Utility workers are working to restore power to consumers.
According to Ukrenergo, in addition to the effects of enemy shelling, 168 settlements in four regions of the country remain without power due to severe weather conditions.
"As a result of enemy shelling, as of this morning, consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions are without power. Wherever safety conditions currently permit, emergency repair work is already underway," the statement reads.
Due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms, strong winds), 168 settlements in the Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and Sumy regions were completely or partially without power as of this morning. Repair crews from the regional power companies are already working to restore the damaged power lines.
As of 9:30 a.m., electricity consumption was 2.7% lower than the previous day. The reason for this change is clear weather in the central and southwestern regions of Ukraine, which is leading to high efficiency in residential solar power plants.
Ukrenergo advises consumers to shift their peak energy consumption to the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This was reported by NEC "Ukrenergo" on Facebook.
